Spring is unfolding here in Portland! I find that my mood is yo-yo-ing with the weather, but in a better way than it was this past winter - seasonal depression is a real b. Every year I convince myself that's not what it is, then the temperature breaks 50F and I experience joy for the first time in oh, three months?? Putting a SAD lamp in the cart this fall, for sure.
These springtime ups and downs are better, more tugging me towards ghost stories, baking with the babes and snuggling up on the couch on rainy days, and buying sundresses and drinking wine on the patio when the sun is out. I've been leaning into what my body is craving, be it foods, experiences, or rest (that one is hard to give to ourselves without guilt isn't it??)

I got to take the nanny babes on some amazing outings this past weekend. Lan Su continues to be an oasis in the middle of the city, the most beautiful and peaceful refuge (with some amazing veggie dumplings to boot).

We also made a trip out to Pittock Mansion to wander the grounds. When I lived downtown this was one of my go-to hiking destinations! I have plans for a shoot at the Witch's Castle sometime this spring/summer. The gardens were just waking up, and the views were stunning.

I got to collab with a local photographer for some gorgeous cherry blossom shots on the waterfront, so keep an eye on this space for those soon!
This week I'm excited to spend some time with the nanny babes, then hop on my first plane since Christmas 2019 to go see my girl, my boo, my wifey for lifey, and celebrate my 25th San Diego style. It's so strange to be contemplating travel again, even with two vaccinations and a couple weeks of quarantine time in the plans. I can't wait to feel the sunshine on my face again and hug my girl (and um, wear at least some of the 15 or so sundresses I stocked up on in anticipation).
See you soon friends!
